Pasture Walk and Sheep program, Trenton, IL

Sheep Program and Pasture walk at Rocky Ford Ranch, Trenton, IL. This is a 300 head, accelerated lambiing and intensive pasture managed farm. This is an excellent to visit one of the most outstanding sheep programs in the Midwest.

Registration starts at 9AM and the tour will start at 10 and linch will be at noon. This program will be followed by the annual meeting of Illinois Lamb and Wool Producers

Visitors will see our lambing barn ( 50 by 98 hoop building )

artificial reared lamb pen ( uses an automatic feeding system )

several pens of ewes nursing lambs (over 500 born in Jan. )

different feeding systems ( self feeders and limit feeding )

Special note: Visitors will see the first Vendeen sired lambs in North America

Biosecurity : Visitors are required to wear clean clothes that have not been around other livestock

Plastic boot covers will be provided

Directions

North-

I-55 South to IL Route 4

South on Route 4 to Lebanon

Turn left at 4 way stop onto Hwy 50

East on Hwy 50 approximately 8 miles to the Trenton exit

Turn right onto Hwy 160

South on Hwy 160 through 4 way stop

Cross railroad tracks

Turn left onto Mill Rd (first road on left)

Straight through first stop sign
Road curves to the right

After curve take first road on left, Rocky Ford Rd

First house on right

South-

I-64 to exit 27 (New Baden)

East on Hwy 161 through New Baden to 4way stop

North on Hwy 160 towards Trenton approx 3 miles

At power station go East on Highline Rd

Make a left onto Mill Rd and then a right on Rocky Ford Rd.

First house on right

East-

I-70 to Highland/Pierron exit

Turn left pass Shell station

Follow signs for Hwy 160 South through Highland and continue to Trenton

Straight thru 4 way stop

Cross railroad tracks

Turn left onto Mill Rd (first road on left)

Straight through first stop sign
Road curves to the right

After curve take first road on left (Rocky Ford Rd)

First house on right
