Intensive Grazing Pasture Walks (Livingston County)

This tour day is divided into two sessions. Feel free to attend either or both. The tour starts at 10:30am at the Paul Kilgus farm, south of Fairbury, (21471 E. 670 North Road) to view a dairy farm that utilizes a rotational grazing system for dairy cows. A meal will be served at 12:30pm.

At 3pm the tour moves to Terry and Kris Bachtold’s Farm, 4 miles south of Forrest on Route 47, turn left at 400 N Road, then go 3 miles east to the farm, 29492 E. 400 N. Road. The afternoon program will include an abandoned well sealing demonstration, variable rate nitrogen application plot and a meal at 5:00 pm.

The program continues at 6pm with discussions on EQIP, beef rotational grazing and a fencing demonstration.
